The brand
Figuratively speaking means "little man and little woman" and comes from the U.S..
Origin of the label are the cities of Miami and New York: In the 80's under this name two of the hottest nightclubs.
This label has been personified by two small Chihuahua - Puppies:
"FRIEDA & FREDDIE".
The complete disco scenes of MIAMI VICE series were filmed there, and developed in parallel at this point a funny, flashy, colorful T-shirt, shirt and sweat collection, which was promoted in a short time to a "IN-label". The focus was on disco funky prints, wild Hawaiian shirts, etc.
A lot of Hollywood stars like Steve McQueen, Paul Newman, Don Johnson - just to name a few of them - wore styles of Frieda & Freddies New York and last but not least, the MIAMI VICE series were equipped with this label.
FRIEDA & FREDDIES finally had achieved cult - status end of the 80s.
In the end of the 90s the discos disappeard and in the course of that the hype died out after wild colorful design.
The trendy US brand “Frieda & Freddies New York” hit Europe in 2007 and has since evolved to a state-of-the-art Lifestyle fashion label.
Placed at top end key accounts all over Europe, our collection was soon established along with leading key brands. (Key accounts include: Ludwig Beck; Oberpollinger; KaDeWe; Garhammer; Breuninger, Peek & Cloppenburg; Engelhorn; Kastner & Oehler Graz; Grieder Zurich etc).
Three delivery dates per season, funky flash collections and a NOS services running all year guarantee outstanding customer satisfaction and boost sales.
For numerous consecutive years we increased our sales revenue once again by over 60% compared with the previous season, proving that our fun-lifestyle concept is fruitful.
Our brand is ubiquitous, but you can find it in most central European countries, to some extent with our own distribution companies.
In 2010 we went to Asia (Hong Kong, Taiwan and China), followed by Russia and a joint venture in Asia is currently conceivable.
The response from over 800 happy customers conclude that we are perceived as a hip lifestyle collection with a refreshing and somewhat contrasting brand image. As you might be aware, our little doggies do not only entertain all those young at heart, but actually bring joy and peace to the little ones as well.
After a great naught to sixty start with FRIEDA & FREDDIES KIDS in 2010 we will greatly extend this range in the oncoming collection. We are happy to announce that key accounts like Breuninger, Engelhorn & Sturm and Lodenfrey are our friends from this season onwards.
NEWS 2012
For the Autumn/ Winter season 2012, FRIEDA & FREDDIES revised its labeling entirely for all product groups including brand-new accessories. Particular attention was paid to Knitwear which is now better than ever before; from chunky to fine knit, cool yarns and outstanding colors.
With lots of pride we present to you our latest FRIEDA & FREDDIES BAGS and BELTS collection, in spicy colors and with a lot of passion for details.
Our recently enlarged Design Team behind Manfred Lebek developed the lifestyle characteristics of our brand further through innovation and the latest doggy biscuits. The exclusive Jeans, Chinos and a wide range of fashionable Blouses and Shirts bring the fun back into the lifestyle outfit.
In-shop sales support is backed up with an animal friendly marketing concept, such as cardboard standups, posters, key rings and shopping bags designed by us. We also promote with Frisbees, postcards, mouse pads, flyer and prints on canvas. At the top end we provide our most valued customers with promotion cars, such as Ford Mustang in the Frieda & Freddies New York dress – up.
